HRM pro - accessing data

Hi.

I would like to access my HR data (any format OK, csv preferred) acquired today throughout the day with a brand new Garmin HRM Pro (long and costly experiment).

I did not create any "activity" (the HRM Pro is described as a stand alone device).

I can see the HR graph on the connect application, but cannot figure out how to export the data.

I do not have any other Garmin product (watch, etc.).

I have tried to create manually an activity afterward -> no possibility to link this activity with the HR data of the same period !!!

I have downloaded .Fit from Daily Summary>Export Original. I got a bunch of 1K .fit files with seemingly non of them containing any data (when trying to open with fitdecode).

Could you please provide me, with an accurate road map, to get my raw HR data?

Best,

  • the HRM Pro is described as a stand alone device

Not sure this is correct or that this is stated as such by Garmin; feel free to correct. The strap can be used to collect data when separate from a Garmin device then download that data to the device after the activity has been completed; this called store and forward.

The strap will collect steps and HR data when connected to Garmin Connect Mobile but this is not stored as an activity and AFAIK cannot be accessed separately.

To collect 24/7 data from an HRM-Pro, or any Garmin strap that has store and forward capability you need to have an activity open on a Garmin device then download the data after you terminate the activity. The strap need not be in range of the device at all times but an activity must be open on the device at all times during the period of data collection.
