HRM pro and Open Water Swimming

This is the third HRM Pro strap I am sending back for a replacement, none of my Garmin watches nor my Edge can detect it anymore. The problem I had with the first two straps was that they wouldn’t download heart rates after open water swims. When I got the third strap, I did install the software update and it worked fine, but that didn’t last long. After a month or so it seems to have died. I even changed battery, but nothing changed.

Are there any swimmers here using the Pro? I’d like to know if they are facing similar issues.

Same here, everything works fine until you go swimming. After that, HRM Pro won't connect anymore with ANT +. Only a restart of the watch makes it visible again. Strange thing though, Bluetooth connection to Garmin Connect always works fine all the time no problem.
