Wearing forerunner when exercising on crosstrainer

Hello

First a description of my setup:

I have bought a crosstrainer with chest strap and access to kinomap where all my data will be logged during training.

Kinomap does not coorperate with garmin connect so I have found a 3rd party app, Strava, that can synchronize between garmin connect and kinomap to get all informations of my training on the cross trainer machine to my Garmin Connect account.

Now to my question:

Should i remove my forerunner watch when exercising on the cross trainer, so the data collected by kinomap and the data my forerunner automatically collects when I have my watch on does not get mixed and corrupt my garmin connect measurements?

Best regards

Rene

  • To make it clear, Garmin doesn't allow third parties like Kinomap to off-load the user data back to Garmin Connect as we do with Adidas Running, Strava, Runkeeper, Training peaks and others.

  • Hi

No I am aware that Garmin and Kinomap does not synchronize, that is why I am using Strava as the "syncronizer" between the two.

My question was therefore if I should take my forerunner watch of before exercising on the machine so it was only Kinomap that would send data to Garmin connect via Strava and not my watch also, corrupting the data..

  • AFAIK Garmin Connect sends data to Strava. Strava does not send data to Garmin Connect.

What you see is the data from your watch uploaded to Garmin Connect then synced to Strava and the data from Kinomap also sent to Strava. If you don't want duplicate entries in Strava, either don't use your Garmin watch or sever the link between GC and Strava to prevent auto-syncing from GC to Strava.
