Posted in the Forerunner 945 forum but thought it may be worth posting here as its not specific to my 945... I also have a Fenix 6.
I have a treadmill which connects to my watch as a 'trainer' however neither watch receives paces/distance/elevation from the treadmill. Whats the point of allowing the connection if it will not record any of the stats.
As an FYI, both the F945 and F6 are both on the most recent firmware. And I am using a Woodway 4Front with a Quick Set Display console.
EDIT:
I chatted with NPE and got some additional insight on the GEM/GEM2 currently installed on newer 4Fronts.
The below are the supported protocols;
- ANT+ Broadcast - Fitness Equipment profile
- ANT+ receiver - HR profile
- Bluetooth Peripheral - Fitness machine service (FTMS)
- Bluetooth Central - HR service
- Gym Connect service (custom service for fitness equipment)
They also confirmed that Garmin have only implemented support for fitness equipment support for bike trainers. Which uses the same profile in the GEM2 however uses different ANT+ data pages.
Feature request: Add support for running data via FEC protocols.
