ANT+ foot pod

Hello! I've noticed running pace is really bouncy and inaccurate when my watch is only using GPS to determine pace. This never was a problem for me because I had a Garmin SDM4 foot pod. Unfortunately it broke and the SDM4 is no longer available... and there seems to be no reasonable alternative.

Does anyone here know of a simple and cheap ANT+ foot pod that is still available?

  • Availability may depend on your location. Where I live, the adidas micoach speedcell (which in fact is a re-branded dynastream footpod, almost identical to the garmin sdm4) is very cheap and easily available.

  • You could use a foot pod ble if your device allows it, I use the Zwift and it works fine

  • Hey tmk2 and Luca, thanks for your advice! I've been unable to find an adidas micoach or any other ant+ foot pod, so I've ordered a Zwift runpod, My 245 Music watch should support it. I hope the experience will be as smooth as with ant+. I still wonder why Garmin stopped producing foot pods as they're seem much more accurate and stable than just using a watch and they complement their watches so well, but alas... :)
