Can I use the cadence and speed sensor without a garmin watch

I no longer have a garmin watch but have the cadence sensor which is on my bike on a turbo. Will the cadence sensor link direct to the app or do I need a garmin watch?

  • Will the cadence sensor link direct to the app

Depends on what app you have in mind. If you mean garmin connect, then no, the cadence sensor cannot be connected to the garmin connect app.

  • If you have a Samsung android phone then you can probably use it with the phone to display sensor readings. These phones have an Ant receiver in them. Look at apps under "ant+" such as IPBIke and IPSensorMan. You can see the other compatible displays (watches and bikecomputers) at thisisant.com. If you are talking about the GSC10 then www.thisisant.com/.../.

  • I use a program called Perfpro Studio and have speed and cadence sensors connecting to it directly. There are other programs too if you have a look for them.
