Disable sensor by activity

Sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum to ask in but couldn't spot a more general one.

Does anyone know of a way to disable specific sensors on a by activity type basis? For example I don't want my watch connecting to the smart turbo trainer when I go to start a run.

This mostly wouldn't be an issue except that we are a multi garmin house hold and (at least over winter) share a turbo trainer. Alternating which of us is running and which is doing a turbo session in the mornings. The issue arises when whomever is running sets off / gets back and their watch picks up the terbo resetting the resistance / power target.

The other time this issue comes up is, since we both use the same bike indoors over winter, I have the speed/cadence sensor for that bike connected. If we go on a ride together over summer I have to make sure I manually disable that speed/cadence sensor to ensure I'm picking up my own.

Basically I would quite like to go into the activity settings and tell it not to look for cycling sensors / accessory when running / not cycling and tell it to use "this" speed/cadence sensor for outdoor bike, and "that" one for indoor bike.

If anyone has found a way to do that either through the watch menu or in connect that would be great.
