replacement strap for hrm-dual

HRM-Dual, approximately 1 year old

Daily 40 minute HIIT rides on spin bike when unable to ride outside

Paired via ANT+ with Fenix 6x Sapphire, Edge 830 and Schwinn AC Power spin bike's console

Ride this am on the Schwinn had no HR on the watch except intermittent display of HR in mid 60 range, persistent mid 60 range on the Schwinn console, then normal expected HRs after 5-10 minutes.

Suspect the strap is starting to malfunction, although haven't had time to open the transmitter and check the battery yet.

No replacement straps listed on Garmin's web site to order that I could see, only the complete HRM-Dual with transmitter, and only an old strap model was available on Amazon.

How do I purchase a replacement strap?

I've got an older Polar H10 that I'll plan on using for now; they sell replacement straps.

The Garmin strap is faster to clean after a workout.

Thanks

  • If you've had HRM Dual for a year and haven't changed the battery, that would be the most probably culprit. Slight smile

If it's not the battery, it could be either the strap or the transmitter. It's difficult to tell, since the transmitter doesn't have any controls or lights.

Garmin sells replacement straps, just go to their web shop https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/38069 (that's a link to to UK shop, that's what came up first by Googling). Don't know if other places have them. However, depending on what "approximately 1 year old" means, HRM Dual has a one year warranty, so you could first contact Garmin and see if they are willing to send you a new one. I had my first HRM Dual die a month after I bought it, and it was the transmitter, and I got a new one on warranty.
