I have a huge problem with my HR sensor (strap). It started to occasionally spike HR up of over +20bpm. If I then press it harder against the chest, it drops the extra bpm within a matter of seconds. For example, suddenly it spikes from around 150bpm to 175, then I press it against the chest, it goes down to 145. It seems to happen:
- immediately at the beginning of the run when it's cold (around +5C or less)
- after some time of run (30min +) when it's worm
I tried these steps:
- thought battery might be weak, replaced the battery, didn't help
- i thought the belt worn out so I replaced the belt, but it didn't help
- replaced the sensor, it was ok for some time and then the entire story started to happen again
- the problem occurs less frequently when I tighten the strap insanely tight, but that is just not reasonable, and I didn't have to do that with Forerunner 610
I didn't have that problem with Forerunner 610 - all readings were rock solid.
I don't want to spend more on any new sensor or Garmin gear unless I have some guarantee or confirmation where the problem is coming from and that any new investment will help to resolve the problem. Saying goodbye to Garmin would be a real pity, as I like the brand.
I would be very thankful for advise and help.
