HRM Battery Replacement

I've been using my Garmin 1000 on my bicycle for a couple of years. It appears that the battery in the HRM sensor has finally worn out. That would normally not be a problem except to replace the battery (a CR2032), I need to remove four tiny Phillips head screws from the back. I've tried to do that but they won't budge. Have other people had this problem? Will I have to go to Garmin and purchase a new sensor?

I had that problem with my Garmin soft strap HRM, and tried using a jeweler's screwdriver. I ended up damaging one of the screws, and the cover for the HRM. To my surprise, I found Garmin says a #0…

do a press while trying to unscrewing them.....

I've tried to press using the tiny screwdriver. The only Phillips head screwdrivers I have for tiny screws are themselves quite small and hence I have had to press and turn with my fingers as opposed to using my full hand. If there was a screwdriver with a full size handle yet a tiny head, then I might be able to get the screws to turn. So far, I can't get the screws to budge.

i know and undestard you.... in my case i used a tiny scredriver and helped with a plier...

I had that problem with my Garmin soft strap HRM, and tried using a jeweler's screwdriver. I ended up damaging one of the screws, and the cover for the HRM. To my surprise, I found Garmin says a #0 Phillips screwdriver will work.

The bit looks too big, but it does work. But, be careful not to over-tighten when putting the screws back in.

(Mine was the older soft strap HRM, from about 6 years ago.)

Same problem. And garmin France said that they had never heard about this issue.

They provided no other solutions like replacement or discount on a new Hrm.

So the customer service is useless, and I need to solve myself.

They are not even able to give me the reference of the screws, they are poor, they know nothing about« their » products

Does this help. This is the bag of screws and it has a Label with codes on
