What's going on with the footpod availability?

The "classic" Garmin Foot Pod (Garmin 010-11092-00) has been unavailable and removed from the Garmin website for 1 or 2 months now. (I am talking about the classic foot pod, NOT the RD waist pod!)

I know that there are rumors of a new Foot Pod model but these rumors have been around since July (more than half a year ago) and there is still nothing. Now you can't even buy any foot pod anymore from Garmin for one or two months.

I want to buy a/the Garmin Foot Pod for more accurate treadmill running.

What's the stance or comment from Garmin on this? They just remove a product from their lineup and don't release any replacement for several months?

Any ANT+ footpod should work.

I'm also looking to buy a Garmin foot pod to use while half marathon training on a treadmill. I wish Garmin would give us some information, whether it's gone forever or if they plan on releasing a replacement in the future.

According to some rumours, there is a new footpod or some pod type of wearable that is going to be released "soon".

Do you have a source on this? Only asking because you're the most recent reply. Wish Garmin would make some sort of statement.

There was one on Amazon and now they're discontinued everywhere and impossible to find even on Amazon/second hand.

Been having the exact same issue for a while now. Nothing available locally (running stores, outdoor stores etc). All discontinued stock status.

Even Amazon only has some third party vendors.

Wish they'd make a statement on the matter one way or another.

According to official Garmin support, “the foot pod has been discontinued and we’re no longer manufacturing it”, and “there isn’t a replacement for the footpod.”.

As the poster below posted, it's a rumour since last year. So it's not confirmed or announced. But I'd think it's likely to have a successor. Even the Index Scale is getting one!

In Canada, Amazon.ca has footpods avialable. Shipped from and sold by Amazon, not 3rd party vendors. So that's an option assuming you are in Canada or in a location where Amazon Canada can ship to you.

That's terrible. I checked last night and it was still available through Amazon for $60 CAD

Seems like that website was then the last one to have them and they're gone now too. Too bad!
