HRM-Tri, battery consumption - Is this normal?

Hi Guys.

I use my HRM-Tri HR strap for an hour almost every day.
I use it with a Fenix 5 and Edge 1030.

I have to replace the battery in the strap every 5 months and it is quite sudden, no warning regarding low battery on either device.
Total time is about 150 hrs over these 5 months.

Is this normal or is my HRM-Tri defective?

It is not normal. It should go longer than 150 hours and it should give you a warning in advance. Open the sensor and check for corrosion on the contacts. Other reason might be using low quality batteries.

Thanks for the input.

No corrosion present when I replaced the battery yesterday.
Can't remember what battery I used when I replaced it last August but this time I used a Duracell.
A Duracell would be considered as a "high(er) quality" battery in my book.
