New Garmin HRM?

My 2015 HRM Run has finally given up the ghost and the case has disintegrated when trying to replace the battery.

Looking for a replacement on the Garmin website and HRM runs have a 5-8 week processing time! Is there a new HRM run on the way that I should wait for? Why the delay?

I believe they are likey replacing all sensors with a '2' , a new ANT+/Bluetooth sensor like they did with the HRM-Dual, Speed 2, Cadence 2, etc. Footpod is also missing everywhere from stock....
