How long does the battery in your Garmin HRM Run chest transmitter last?

Hi,

I bought a Garmin 735XT and the Garmin HRM Run chest transmitter about 6 months ago. I'm only getting about 30 hours use at the very most from the chest transmitter battery before having to replace it with a new one. Is this normal? I see that garmin states over 300 hours use from a new battery. I'm not getting a fraction of this for some reason. The transmitter is well looked after and always wiped and dried thoroughly after every use. Is this likely to be a faulty unit? Is it worth asking Garmin for a replacement?

There are huge differences between battery brands. Some will last significantly longer than others. With good batteries I get about a year on my hrm run around 1500km in a year. I wear it on most runs…

That's awesome. I will follow through on this, but so far I've reached dead ends, and have gotten to responses to my inquiries.

I DID return a vivosmart and they did offer to send another one, but they won't ship warranty replacements to Canada. They'll happily sell to us, but they won't back up their faulty devices for us.

It is now 2 years since I purchased my Garmin 520 Edge Plus. I chose Garmin because its a global brand so I thought I would have a throughly reliable product. How wrong I was !!! Battery failure on HRM is almost down to every 8 weeks regardless of brand...Duracell Panasonic etc... Garmin have replaced the HRM but its made no difference. Other user problems are too numerous to mention...
