We are excited to share that firmware updates supporting virtual shifting in Zwift are now available.
By using a Tacx NEO 2T or 3M paired with Zwift Cog and Click, cyclists can enjoy smooth, silent virtual…
I reached out to support on this same query and I was told to submit an idea. I wish they would do it as I love my Neo but also want to keep up with new tech. If virtual shifting is not on the roadmap…
Garmin. Pls update Your firmware.
I saw that as well and immediately saw it as a good sign, however, Ray didn't say anything about Garmin/Tacx. My 2T has served me well since the start of COVID, but I will not get another nor a 3T…
3132681 this software feature update is only available for NEO 2, NEO 2T and NEO 3M trainers.
Yes, this software update is also available for NEO 2 (non-T) trainers. After updating the Tacx Training App and connecting the NEO 2, you will have an option to install a new trainer firmware
Excellent News, thanks Clayton.
I updated my Neo 2 SE to firmware 2.6.0 and it no longer connected to my laptop over Bluetooth. I wanted to test it before buying Zwift click buttons but probably won't work without a stable Bluetooth connection.
It initially connects over Bluetooth but drops connection after a few seconts
It was working before the update
Ant+ is still working
revord62please be sure the device (phone or computer) running the Tacx App is restarted (powered off and on) before testing again.
Tacx trainers will only make one Bluetooth connection and would have occupied this connection with the Tacx App while installing the new firmware. If the NEO is still connecting to the Tacx App it will be unavailable for a new Bluetooth connection with Zwift's app.
See Why Won't My Tacx Smart Trainer Pair With My Training Application? for details about what the NEO status LEDs indicate
I just tested with Zwift installed on an Android device and Bluetooth connection was stable so the problem could be with my laptop
Yes that’s understood, but my questions is whether we can expect the update to be made to the Neo T2800 as well? If not, why is that?
thanks
never. the T2800 (the Neo Gen1) has different communication chipset (slower Bluetooth /only 1HZ mode vs 4HZ Neo2 series/ than the Neo2 or Neo2SE Neo2T) so it has hardware limitation. the 2nd thing is the Neo1 is 10years old, there is no support for such an old devices (nowhere in the industry )
btw, i have Neo1 since 2015 october
Great Job Garmin! I tried the update this morning and there is a TACTILE SHIFT that I have not experienced with other virtual shifting enabled trainers. There is a slight "bump" and pressure on/off that feels just like a real bike and derailleur. I know it took a while but I do think they spent the time getting it right.
