I reached out to support on this same query and I was told to submit an idea. I wish they would do it as I love my Neo but also want to keep up with new tech. If virtual shifting is not on the roadmap…
What does this news mean?
Zwift version 1.76 begins its phased rollout today.
(This release may seem a bit light – just a route badge and some bug fixes – but it’s worth…
Garmin. Pls update Your firmware.
Thanks for reaching out. There have been many threads on this topic since the first rollout of Zwift's virtual shifting feature last year.
Our smart trainers have long been compatible with all popular indoor training platforms, and we're continuing to investigate opportunities to bring more features to Tacx users.
I just got a Neo2T because I'm recovering from a knee surgery and can ride my gravel bike on a wahoo with a COG setup. I wish I had seen this post first. Do I just return my Neo or is Garmin going to give us an update?
edit: The answer for now is to use QZ Fitness App. It interfaces between the Trainer and Zwift letting you have a "QZ trainer" to pair with Zwift. Brilliant project. The app also connects to the click and lets you control virtual shifting.
You sound like a politician reading from an official statement knowing fully well there's actually not any substance to all those words. Come on man, it's a bike trainer we are talking about, not high-tension geopolitics we are. Just tell us whether customers who have paid huge sums of money for your product can reasonably expect you to stay tuned with the overall market development? If not, why?
Unfortunately I have no concrete timeline or updates to share. In regard to this specific feature request, we are investigating the possibility to support Zwift's new features.
There are 3rd party workarounds that bridge Tacx trainers with Zwift software and allow for some form of virtual shifting support as other users have mentioned.
Garmin's customers can expect continued updates as fitness ecosystems change, and that we will continue offering class-leading products and support for our customers. Thank you for your patience, I will keep these forum threads apprised with any additional info.
Any new update on this topic?
I use the QZ App on a Neo 2T! I dont use Zwift! With QZ Virtual Shift Works on Rouvy and MyWhoosh! I habe Zwift Play for shifting and it works perfekt. Try a BT Controller With the volume Controll. It works but Not so Fine. Now I Order the Zwift Click and Cog! The QZ App ist perfekt for the Moment!
