Loss of resistance, no lights and Fan running constantly

Hey guys, today I was using zwift and suddenly the Neo stopped having resistance and its fans were on maximum. The Neo 2T is from 2020 and no longer has a warranty. Any idea what it could be or how to fix it?

I tell you, I have spoken with Garmin International. They opened a support case for me, asked me for a video and referred me to the local importer in Argentina (Garmin Argentina / Ultralight). I took the equipment to Garmin Argentina and they told me that they do not fix equipment out of warranty, but since I had generated a support request at Garmin International they were going to review it. I am very frustrated with this situation, it is too expensive equipment not to be able to repair it.

  • Exact same thing happened to me right now. Happily riding on Zwift, suddenly no tension available against pedal stroke, fan blowing loudly. Stops blowing if turned off but still no tension against stroke. Any one been able to resolve this?

  • Call Garmin.  They swapped mine with a refurbished one.  Mine was almost 4 years old.  Good luck.

  • Same experience. I think it has something to do with the serial number. Mine was a replacement of a new one that was doa. Garmin has been fair.

  • This just happened to me, for a unit purchased in June 2020. I'm also getting a replacement one even though its out of warranty. Very greatefully I may add! 

  • They know something we don't or I doubt they would be replacing these out of the goodness of their own hearts. I am sure this keeps them from a class action suit. That said, I am grateful they are doing the right thing. I have many Garmin devices, they have mostly been very good customer service. I will stay with Garmin for these reasons.

  • Same here. You want to stick with those who stand by their products.  They don't want to be sued nor the bad publicity that comes with it.  The fork on my S-Series broke (last week).  Cervelo replace it with a brand new Soloist Frame. They did not argue about it, at all.  That's another company I can stick with.

  • Same Issue here, my TACX Neo 2T (SN 800050525) purchased in 2020 stopped providing any resistance mid-ride and the fan came on. Additionally, lights do not come on when plugged in. When unplugging it and plugging it back in it's the same situation. The Neo 2T no longer shows up on Bluetooth so unable to see if an update is required.

    Insane that such an expensive product stops working after a few years and there is no place that repairs them.
