MTP-mode broken

My Vivosmart 5 has stopped syncing: after connecting to USB, the bracelet won't switch to MTP mode. If I completely delete the device in the Express app, then uninstall and reinstall Express, the device switches modes normally the first time and transfers accumulated data (it also appears on the computer as a USB drive), but after that, it won't switch again.

  • Yup, it's a problem with Garmin Express 7.27 - Myself and other people have noted the exact same problem with both vivosmart 4's and 5's. Your only workarounds at the moment is use Garmin Connect Mobile, or an earlier version of Garmin Express. If you want you can always phone up Garmin Support to raise another ticket and maybe they eventually will find a fix for the next update for Express.
