Atrial Fibrillation for VivoSmart 5

I've only had this a few weeks, and now want something more....... It would be great if the watch would check for AFIB (irregular heartbeat), especially for older users like myself. The hardware is all there, as it can monitor my heartbeat, so just needs to be implemented in software.

This would be great selling point for the watch. If it never appears, I'll probably end up buying a watch that does, like the Fitbit Sense.

Hi Tracy Thanks for the links, but unfortunately, nothing for me for the Vivosmart 5. I bet you don't have any timescales as to if/when it will appear for my watch?

The ECG app requires the watch to have hardware components that are not / will not be available on the vivosmart 5. An upgrade to another product line would be necessary.

Hi Tracy

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but isn't this a simple software issue? The Vivosmart 5 can read and log my heart rate, so all it needs is a bit of software that looks at the different rates and determines if i've got AFIB. What specific hardware does the ECG app require for this?

The ECG app only functions with the current generation heart rate sensor and requires the device to have a metal bezel. The vivosmart 5 has neither.

Hi thanks for replying again. I don't think I'm going to get anywhere with this, so probs need a new watch that meets my needs.
