Body battery physio true up for VS5

any ETA on when we should expect an update to enable Body Battery Physio True Up? It is really frustrating that only watches got this, I already have a Fenix 8….

  • +1 here F8 and old VS5 getting dust but still waiting for a whoop-like VS6 (or VivoBand ;-)) to use with my mechanical watches and for sleep tracking

Really hope this BB TrueUp is the sign of something moving in that direction.

A screen less band, would also benefit from some iOS widgets (almost every sport/health app on the store has some, only GCM does not on my iPhone)

  • I am not yet 100% sure, but I was curious to test the latest 3.28. It looks like there is some BB true up switching from my VS5 to my F8.

I slept with the F8 and ended up with a BB of 100%, and that was picked up by my VS5. Now I am wearing my VS5 all day, and I'll see tonight what is shown on the F8 when I put it on for a run.

The F8 got the BB history from the VS5, but in the watch widget while the BB line was continuous, there was no display of stress values (bars) when I wore the VS5. Not sure if this is supposed to be the case with a true BB True Up device.

  • Back home after a few hours, all stress and BB data captured by the VS5 are transferee to the F8 just like if I had worn it all day. Nice Slight smile

  • I've been wearing my VS5 for a few days now, still sleeping with the F8 as VS5 sensor misses a few data (like temp).

only side effet I see today, is on the training readiness where the avg stress level is no longer evaluated as I need to wear the watch night and day to get this information (even though the stress data is displayed on the BB widget on the watch)

  • I recently caved and bought a Whoop. Finding that I am getting quite a bit of value using both platforms together. I also have an Oura ring, which feeds Whoop with activities it auto detects too. Pretty neat- only shame is that I now need to juggle multiple platforms

  • it's funny as the release notes for 3.28 nor 3.29 didn't say a word about added body battery true up but just mentioned "improve stability" that would mean two possibilities:

    (1) the guy who writes release notes has no clue what's covered as he isn't informed at all or

    (2) Garmin has body battery true up sync since the beginning as feature requirement listed but required 2 years to get it actually up and working in reality instead working on powerpoints...

  • Doesn’t work for me. Body battery showing completely different numbers on the two devices….latest firmware on VS5

  • Hi! Has this still been working for you? I also have F8 and VS5

I was doing the opposite for last 2 days (Fenix during daytime and wearing VS5 during nighttime) and I got 2 different Body Battery reads.

I wonder if it only works the way you are doing it (with Fenix collecting sleep data?)

any special settings you had to turn off or on?

when switching between both devices, do you manually press the sync button on both in the Connect app and then turn the other off?

    thanks!

  • I've rested this and indeed the BB numbers are not exactly synched so it was probably some kind of luck they looked in sync before.

Fingers crossed on a decent VS6 or other line of smart bands as capable as a Fenix in terms of tracking and more adapted to good locking.
