So disappointed in the Vivosmart 5, would never recommend it to anybody! As I have the Fenix 6 for running, cycling etc I only bought it for 2 reasons, vibrating alarm and sleep tracking, and both are average at best. Yes I have vibration set to "High", yes I have the watch fitted "snugly", but still can hardly feel it.
As for sleep tracking, it it just so hit and miss as to whether it works! Works for 2 nights, misses next night, works for 3 nights, misses next night. HR is working fine, wearing it the same way every night, and yes meeting all of these criteria:
-
The watch must be worn at least two hours before bedtime.
-
The optical heart rate sensor must be enabled while sleeping.
-
A valid birth date must be saved in the User Settings in Garmin Connect.
-
To ensure the most accurate sleep data, make sure that your sleep and wake windows are set correctly. If your sleep schedule changes, update your sleep time to ensure the most accurate sleep data.
-
If you have more than one watch, you must wear the one marked as your primary wearable device to bed.
I try to sync it about 20 times, reset VS5, clear Garmin Connect App history and restart, log out and back in again, but nothing works. Fortunately I used AMEX points to buy it so won't lose any money when it goes out the window! Part of this is the old reverse psychology, hoping I post this and the data miraculously appears
