Vivosmart 5 Distance Inaccurate

I just got my Vivosmart 5 a couple days ago. My bf and I went on a run together and his Instinct 2 tracked about a mile less than my vivosmart. Since then I have been tracking with Map My Run previously (I've used this on official courses and it is pretty accurate) and get ~20% higher distance on my vivosmart. These are on walks and runs outdoors so GPS should be connected.
