Vivosmart 5 not connecting to phone GPS when trying to record activities

My GPS is on and all permissions are enabled through the GC app, but no matter how long I wait it will just never connect. Tried talking to CS and they were useless. 

When I select what activity I want to record it will pull up a little loading screen telling me the watch needs to connect to my phone's GPS before it can record, and to open the app. So I'll pull the app up, verify it is syncing and the green light is on by my device, but nothing will ever happen. Left it sitting there for 20 minutes just hoping it would eventually connect but never did. Customer support essentially asked if I was sure GPS was on and that permissions were enabled and had nothing else to say besides that. 

  • I have the same issue with one difference. The very first time i tried gps tracking vivosmart did connect to my phone gps, but after workout i had no map and altitude gain information. All other informations about workout were there(heartbeat, lenght, duration, laps, cadence, temp, etc)
