Vivosmart 5 keeps disconnecting from Garmin app and freezing

I am having trouble with my Vivosmart 5. Latest software version installed (2.94) and latest version of the Garmin app installed on my iPhone. The battery is draining fast, it keeps disconnecting from the Garmin app, it can't sync properly because of this and sometimes it freezes - it doesn't respond to my gestures even though DND is off and mode is set to always on and sensitivity set to high. The screen takes long to react when I press the button. What I've done so far: unpaired and re-paired the watch and phone several times. Powered off. Reset default settings. Even turned off bluetooth from other devices lying around. It behaves very erratically, and I don't know if this is a software glitch with the watch, or with the Garmin app, or both. I keep it clean, wash it after every workout and only charge it when it's completely dry. I got the watch for Christmas, so I've been using it only since then. Any ideas?
