Vivosmart 5 as Primary Wearable

Dear Garmin,

please add the ability tu fully support this new feature recently introduced : Primary Wearable and Primary Training Device (Unified Training Status)

I’d love to have my VS5 as Wearable and Epix2 as Training device.

Thank you

  • I was very wary of Whoop even before buying as the vast majority of reviews on YouTube are, unsurprisingly, praising Whoop to no end. After my 2 week trial period, I could easily see those reviews are paid for.

I found Whoop to be lacking in accuracy, with a platform closed off to the point of being useless when used as a secondary device. The strength training tracking, as the feature that finally got me to pull the trigger, was an even bigger disappointment, personally.

I really hope Garmin wakes up from whatever deep sleep it is in right now and adds body battery physio true up across its compatible devices.

  • Maybe a VS6 is around the corner as both the Venu and Vivoactive have been updated and both include Unified Training Status.

  • Well if they do, I hope they are thinking about non-silicone band options too, whilst keeping the (slightly more) subtle fitness tracker looks.

  • would be nice if a vs6 is in the making and if we than finaly get a good combo of a small device as your primaire device and a big device like a epic or a forerunner as a training device, and we get all the (raw) HVR data. One can only hope...

Please Garmin, make it work, there is such a large group of users who rely want that combination.

  • Actually, we ended up using our Gen 2 Epix to track sleep. The watch ended up being more comfortable to wear while sleeping and the HRM light is not so intrusive at night. We think the VS5 is too bulky while the watch is flatter and fits better on the wrist. Not waiting for a VS6. The Epix is great.

  • everybody has his own preference :-) but i dont't think the epix is a "small" device. I do beleive the epix is great, the FR is also great. and the vs5 too, appart from not showing (raw) HVR details.

  • Can anyone confirm if the vivosmart 5 can be used as a secondary device now ? Basically want to use my Marq for workouts and the VS5 during work to avoid damaging my Marq. I’m hoping all the data syncs up properly to Connect.
