New Vivosmart 5 keeps asking me to reconnect to phone?

Not sure what is going on. Now I am not getting any alerts on my tracker. I just got it today. When I scroll through, now it keeps saying to "reconnect to phone". I open the app, reconnect and as soon as my phone goes into sleep mode I am disconnected again. What am I doing wrong.
