How do I see battery information?

Is the only way to see battery information by setting the watch face to include battery data?

I can use the connect app to view sensor battery life. But nothing for VM Trend and no widgets for it either. I never know when to charge the device.

thank you - perhaps I wasn't clear, I don't want battery status on the watch face.

Is it shown anywhere else? like in the app? buried in a watch setting? any back up source at all?
