Bluetooth Keeps Disconnecting and Reconnecting to Phone

The Bluetooth connection of my Vivoactive 5 keeps disconnecting and reconnecting which caused missed notifications and sync issues. I've updated to 9.24, but issue still persists. Even I unpair and pair it again, it's still happening which is very frustrating. This is my first Garmin device and so far I'm not liking the experience. Anyone else facing the same issue?

  • Hi all. My wife recently upgraded her VA4 to a VA5. Loves the new watch, until it started doing the disconnect thing. Something it will last for 3 days, other times it would disconnect and not reconnect multiple times a day. She is on a pixel 6a, but the VA4 worked flawlessly. Currently on Android 14. Maybe tonight I will upgrade to Android 15 and see if that improves matters. 

    PS. Emails support is absolutely horrible. I have sent 4 emails, and only got one reply, with a generic copy from the support page to say disable battery saver.

  • Completed the upgrade to Android 15 last night and so far it has not dropped. Not getting excited yet either. Has lasted for more than 2 days before.

  • Nope. That didn't resolve the problem.

    Been bugging Garmin support for the last week and they have agreed to RMA the VA5.

    Hoping that they can do something about it.

  • Same problem on the VA5 from my wife and her Pixel 7a.
    Connection lost for unknown reason. Myself wearing a Epix2 and i never seen this problems.

  • I'm wearing a FR955 and have only paired my watch once, when I got it, and it has been rock solid connection. 

  • I'm having the same issue with my Venu 3 (SW version 12.10) and Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.

    Is there anybody who cold solve this issue? I'd like to test any working solution. Sadly, the instructions by Garmin (videos from support center) and instructions by Samsung didn't change anything.
