Battery Drain Problem

Hello all, I got Vivoactive 5 and it sometime drain battery by itself. I just charged yesterday afternoon and it drained %35 in my sleep. Normally it’s just %2-3 max 4 but after update it drains anormally and it making me so angry. I’m user of Garmin like ten years but I really start to hate because of this watch! Please solve this problem or I will buy Apple Watch or Fitbit it’s just frustrating

last night my battery was %100 now %62!

  • Battery life was about 5 days or so.
After the 17.01 patch ts 1,5 days at max.

    Tried restarting,
    factory defaulting,
    full to empty loads,
    different watchface

    Nothing works.

What the *** are they doing?

  • After the update mine was at 91% around midnight and 59% the next morning 9:30. Since the watch was only one day old, I decided to do a factory reset, resetting everything. After that, the watch works like a charm. About 2-3 % battery drop during the night. The only difference is that I had Garmin Pay activated and I did not activate it after the factory reset. Also I did not connect the watch to my Wi-Fi network. I find the Garmin Pay option a bit useless anyway, since you have to enter your PIN code every day. At the grocery store where I do most of my shopping, I have to swipe my phone anyway for my customer card and I have Google Pay on my phone, so I might as well use my phone to make the payment rather than with my Garmin watch. It was actually out of curiosity that I tried to pay via Garmin Pay, which did work by the way.

  • I factory reset mine a second time now.
only connected it to my pone.
still lost about 4% in the last hour

  • I fully charged my watch yesterday and just received the low battery warning (11%). It normally lasted 3-4 days after the update a few months that started reducing battery life, but this right now is something else... what is going on?

  • I am having the same issue now, it started about a week ago for me, and it's still happening on version 17.05.

    It's very disappointing.

  • I've just sent mine back for a replacement after speaking to someone on the phone. They agreed there's something wrong with it. it's only 12 months old and it wont last 3 hours after a full charge. It's useless to me at the moment.
I asked the question, what a new one is going to solve considering their update is what bricked it and they said they'll have to sort it out if it happens again... So if this one does the same thing, its going to be goodbye Garmin I think.
Shame. I really like this watch.
First thing Im going to do if it works fine out the box is disable updates.

I already purchased an Apple today watch anyway, as I'm not convinced this is going to be fixed anytime soon.
Someone on YouTube made a video on this problem and it looks like Garmin has known about this for a while without it being fixed. I even had a look in the Vivo Active 6 forum, where I can see people are having the same issue on that version too.
