Vivoactive 4 shortcircuited and caused blister

My vivoactive 4 short circuited yesterday as per the article www.news.com.au/.../3e535882971a886d1553e9a9871692ac for other watches and caused a blister. The article suggests upgrading the software on the device but my vivoactive 4 is up to date. Any one else experiencing an issue?
