Watch powers off when adding Spotify music

Hi all,

I reset my watch this morning to factory defaults so I can sync it with a new Garmin account.

After the initial watch and Spotify setup I tried to add a playlist. I'm able to browse from the watch my playlists and podcasts.

I tested Spotify sync on 3 networks. On two of them I get "sync failed" after a few minutes of "0 % complete". On the 3rd network, after the synchronization reaches 3-4%, the watch powers off.

I reinstalled the app several times. I deleted/recreated the Spotify authorization. The watch was connected to a power source while syncing and the battery level was 90-100%. The wtach was near the WIFI router.

Many thanks!

Any idea?

  • My Vivoactive turns off every time I try to upate my playlists.

    Any suggestions/fixes here?

  • I have 3 Garmin watches and all of them have specific and strange issues/behaviors, so I have only suggestion: try to sell your Garmin and get another brand, as you will never get proper support from Garmin.

  • Contact Garmin directly using the Garmin Support Center.

  • Did already three times, never answered and I think because it is out of warranty, they wont help?

  • Did already three times, never answered

That should never happen. What phone number are you calling and what region are you in? I've always received a response either by phone, chat, or emailing support at [email protected]

  • Experiencing the same issue with mine. Started some time ago, but can't be sure if it tied in with any updates.

I've found that when my phone is syncing a Spotify playlist, I need to keep touching my watch screen to keep it active or lit up, and that seems to keep progressing the syncing process further.

I was just able to get it to sync from 34% to about 90% (in a playlist of about 75 songs), but burnt through 35% of the watch battery. I'm at 95% right now, and the phone has turned off three times even with touching the watch screen.

Where's Garmin support for this issue? Its obviously affecting a significant amount of users and its not acceptable when we're paying hundreds of dollars for these things to not address these issues.
