Vivoactive 4 - Need to downgrade to factory versions of SW and drivers (not only firmware) ?

I opened the following topic https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/vivoactive-4-series/297556/vivoactive-4-big-problems-since-this-we-due-to-a-sw-update

I'ld want to be able to test the device through a "massive" software downgrade (firmware and all drivers), back to factory versions (or to any stable version prior to 2022 for example).

Can the GARMIN support tell me how to do that, since it's the only way I can see to confirm or not that my problems are due to a SW package ... or not.

Additionnaly, I want to mention : I am very disapointed and depicted that GARMIN :

- does not provide a standard procedure to proceed to such a basic test

- does not provide any Testing Tool, nor a Reset tool or equivalent

- does not react / answer to the questions asked through this Forum

- does not provide any clear changelogs of all the SW packages (not only the firmware)

- the Garmin HelpDesk (at least in France) cannot do any of these neither !

Thus, my watch, unusable anymore, probably due to an auto SW update cannot be normally, seriously  tested. A company willing to setp a planned obsolesence program would not proceed differently.

  • Have you tried to search the forum for the previous beta firmware? Those typically include files to go back to the firmware before.
I am guessing the current SW/FW works well for most of us, but that yours got messed up during installation. That seems to happen for some users every time Garmin rolls out new SW/FW.
