Vivoactive 4 update 6.80 problems

I recieved the update last night and woke up this morning to a garmin that will not work. I did the soft reset which did nothing. I connected it to my laptop with Garmin Express and had to cycle the power to get it to recognize my device. Something is bad wrong with this update.

  • I had to reinstall version 4.50, with the next ones after a while I no longer receive notifications

  • Can confirm I'm having pairing issues as well , although for me it looks more like a Bluetooth problem , since neither my iPhone nor my Samsung Galaxy A71 seem to even recognize the watch , except for a few short moments , when "all stars align" Smiley I tried pairing my wireless earphones as well , and the watch doesnt seem to recognize them either.

  • Hello,

Following this update, my Vivoactive 4 heart rate monitor now records around 25-30% less BPMs than before. This is only true for intense activities, like running, for the upper zones. For the lower zones, the recorded heart rate seem accurate.

I have contacted Garmin which kindly exchanged the watch with a new one (under warranty). However, this did not solve the problem.

Did anyone else encountered this issue?

    Thank you.

  • I also noticed that the heart rate is lower than before in the situations you describe. In my case, it seems mostly more accurate than before, as the recorded heart rate often used to be too high before.
