6.50 SW Battery Drain

Hi,

I updated my VA4 to 6.50 yesterday. Since the battery went down REALLY quick : charged the watch at 5pm, it told me this morning at 9am it has only 10% left.

I did not change any settings (no SPO2, no bluetooth or music or whatever).

Can you help ?!

Please leave a comment if you have a similar issue since 6.50 update.

Here it is not related with backlight or something.
I did not changes these settings in about a year.

Hi Claire,

i have the exact same issue sinds about a week.
Makes my garmin vivoactive 4 a useless watch. After full charge it is back down to 0% in about 16h (even without activity).

I think most of us already did that if i read the forum topics.
Myself i tried a couple of hard resets. That way everything is reset, also the possible CIQ content.
But that does not work to…

After the last restart of the watch, the battery consumption seems to have returned to the previous standard. Battery consumption from 100% to 22% (-78%) occurred after:

34 hours of operation, including:
- 10 hours of sleep with Pulse Ox
- 3h20m activity with GPS and wrist-based heart rate measurement
- I have Bluetooth, pulse measurement and pulse oximeter turned on all the time.

Fortunately, in my case, a simple restart of the watch was enough.

I see that your device still has a Connect IQ watch face (Rings Pro - https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/00ff49d3-3306-4c1b-bf65-4b8ae8cab513) installed. Please use the Garmin Express application to uninstall it.

Thanks for your response Garmin-Kevin.
I indeed reinstalled a watch face after i saw this was not fixing the battery drain.
To test i now uninstalled this one and did a power off, power on cycle.
I'll keep you updated on the results of this change.

So i removed the watch face and restarted my device.
Overnight (23:00 - 6:30) it lost about 60% without wearing it and without pulseox.

To me that is not normal.

If i'm correct you need to charge that also each day?

I charge it every 2 days. Typical 1%/hour discharge off hand, 11%/hour discharge while working out with gps/ BUT, it's predictable, unlike garmin which discharge whenever it wants

I've done all of that but the problem is still there. Almost 70 to 75% of battery loss in 24 hours without anything specials running

Hi,

I restart the watch and fortunately it worked for me. I also deleted the watchface, which was really simple, but now my battery is really much better.

I hope everybody can find a solution.

We are having the same issue with the VA3 as well.
