6.50 SW Battery Drain

Hi Claire,

i have the exact same issue sinds about a week.
Makes my garmin vivoactive 4 a useless watch. After full charge it is back down to 0% in about 16h (even without activity).

I tried almost everything i could found. Reset, no aditonal software....
It started with software (or sensor update) in 6.40.
Was hoping 6.50 fixes the issue, but without any luck.

Also tried to reset the watch twice, without any luck.
And since then i am also not able to get the bluetooth connection with my smartphone up and running again.

EDIT : I disactivated my watchface and lost 10% battery in 3 hours. Then I activated my watchface (Lachesis light from Garmin) and lost 21% in two hours. It is better than yesterday but still not as good as before.

This is for me  and many other users and old issue. The only way to have decent battery life with non-stock watch faces is either to deactivate completely backlight or have the backlight on with more than 0%. Also I was using shortcut to enable-disable (0%) backlight during sleep but I have removed this since as said putting backlight to more than 0% is causing me battery drain.

That’s with non stock watch faces, using a stock one shouldn’t create any issue. Unfortunately up to now there was no fix on this as it was started with 5.80 release, before this everything was working fine.

Here it is not related with backlight or something.
I did not changes these settings in about a year.

up to 2-3 weeks ago i was able to use my watch for about 4-5 days without charging.
And now i need to charge it every day.

version 6.50 was installed on my vivoactive4 a couple days ago (don't know exactly when), suddenly 2 days ago (in the evening after exercising) I run out of battery (which never happens to me as I charge daily) since that moment battery goes from 100% to 0% in less then 2 hours, even with bluetooth disabled, a default face, backlight off and just sitting down doing nothing!

also since that moment the watch does not pair anymore, not to iphone, not to android! I have tried to fix things with garmin-express but no success

(how) can we do a rollback to previous software version?

ps just changed the face to "the" default to see if that changes anything... and it does NOT, battery goes down from 28% to 21% just to type this post!!!

I have the same feelings. I didn't change anything in the settings and suddenly after updating to version 6.50, instead of 4 days on the battery, my watch only works for 1 day. There would be some option to restore the old watch firmware and version 6.50 should be beta.

I don't think going back to an older firmware would help. The new firmware itself is not the problem, but the upgrade process is. Every time Garmin rolls out new firmware, this battery issue happens to some unfortunate watch owners. It has been like that for years.
