Change History

Changes made from version 6.30 to 6.33:

  • Updates to Garmin Pay
  • Added Pulse Ox improvements
  • Added golf improvements
  • Added support for HRV from a chest strap
  • Fixed an issue were cadence values were halved in Connect IQ data fields
  • Fixed some missing translations
  • Reworked backlight/brightness settings
  • Fixed some scenarios where the backlight could get stuck on
  • Fixed an issue where Connect IQ watch faces could crash

  • I installed the 6.33 beta last week and it seems to be working fine. I golfed 2 rounds of 18 over the weekend and everything recorded correctly. To note, the update reset the golf activity to default settings and I needed to re-enable Scoring and Stat Tracking.

  • The SPO2 widget seems to be in a test loop... it will do a reading, and a few seconds later, start again. This carries on perpetually until the user exits the widget. Previously, one test is done, display the reading, then exit to the watch face eventually.

If your SPO2 widget is one swipe away from your watch face, this might end up with a surprise battery drain if the watch isn't locked. Seems like a bug, or if its on purpose, a rather large oversight.

yeah, I reported it to beta dev team a while ago in the email but never heard back, hopefully they would fix it, I'm also not sure whenever it was a bug or intended behavior.

  • After an update to version 6.40 I am experiencing negative stress values on one of default faces. It never shows positive value although stress is read correctly.

I've seen similar reports at Reddit so you're not alone in this, possibly it's worth creating a new thread for this though, this way there would be more chances that people with the same problem could find it. This thread was to Beta firmware version and as you said yourself  you're using 6.40 now.

  • I will no longer use this as a sleep tracker until I can set backlight to zero with quick widgets. Can I revert firmware? Quick swipe menu was so easy to change brightness even in the dark. Whoever decided this change must not actually use the product. Unacceptable change.

  • Have you tried version 6.42?

  • I meant to post this in the 6.40 thread. But as you said it looks like 6.42 addresses that problem. I'll have to see how to get my watch to install beta updates.

  • I don't like the 10% min backlight setting. I don't need any brightness during the day and it is now an inconvenience to go into the system settings to turn it off.  I like having brightness when i am scrolling around on the watch, not all the time.  Please bring back the 0% option in the widget shortcut feature.
