Change History

Changes made from version 6.30 to 6.33:

  • Updates to Garmin Pay
  • Added Pulse Ox improvements
  • Added golf improvements
  • Added support for HRV from a chest strap
  • Fixed an issue were cadence values were halved in Connect IQ data fields
  • Fixed some missing translations
  • Reworked backlight/brightness settings
  • Fixed some scenarios where the backlight could get stuck on
  • Fixed an issue where Connect IQ watch faces could crash

  • That could be. I didn't think it was "on" when the backlight was off. If that is the case shouldn't the rework be an on/off switch with the quick settings? Pretty simple.

  • Thank you, yes it is. Never drilled into the menus before to find it. I have always used the quick settings to set the backlight to dark/off. Turning off the backlight from the system menu disables the quick settings icon. So on the rare occasion I do want a backlight I have to remember how to drill down the menu to enable the backlight before controlling it with the quick settings icon. Much preffered the old way of having dark through the quick settings.

  • I have created a support ticket for this with Garmin Ref:20374191K0.

  • I agree, I have used this often. Especially during longer activities. This option should come back.

  • Reworked backlight/brightness settings --   It now means the backlight can't go down to zero. I like having no backlight.

I didn't spot that but I liked the way they added more customizeable settings which are now individual for activity and for the rest.

Not being able to turn off the backlight in the quick settings is a huge step back. Not a good idea for users.

I think they did it as a safeugard, as previously, when I was using gestures I set backlight once or twice to zero and then couldn't read anything in the night and have to use flashlight to enable backlight back.

  • Scorecards are now uploading to the server. I haven't changed anything here so it must be the Garmin server that has changed. Both todays card and yesterdays card which repeatedly failed are now uploaded. I guess that closes the issue without knowing why it has started working.

  • I am not sure whether to install this with the reports of the golf stats being lost. I am annoyed that the activity doesn't record, but it would be far worse if the golf stats do not record. I will be golfing next weekend and would like to see if it works and I may not golf again until spring.

  • I made the initial report and they started working again without me changing anything the next day. I didn't lose anything in the end all stats and scores downloaded succesfully without losing anything.

  • Backlight still not turning off on the HR widget and while broadcasting via the widget. BUT at least there finally is a shortcut for broadcasting and when using this one, the backlight turns off as it should..

  • I did notice a little change they made on the strength app. You no longer have to accept the weight twice to get through the decimal place, and I'm fine with having to push the decimal place to put in decimals. Now if they could just make that same change to the reps I wouldn't have to double tap while shaking from exhaustion.
