Cannot find GPS on vivoactive4

I've had the vivoactive a number of months and was working well then it suddenly cannot find the GPS when I go out for a run. I reset the device but it is still doing it.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Is this a problem with garmin devices generally. I had a vivoactive 3 and had to return it as it would only find GPS depending on what mood it was in.

It is not a problem, it is the way most GPS devices work - they need the ephemeris data to find the satellites quicker. You either need to update it through USB with Garmin Express, or having a functional data connection at the moment you are starting the outdoor activity, or you have to wait up to several tens of minutes, before the GPS position is locked without the ephemeris data.
