Vivoactive 4 Can I use connected gps through my phone instead of the watch GPS to save batter life?

Thank you for the response. I'm curious if I were to disable the gps tracking from the watch, could I use an app like myfitnesspal to track my gps through the phone, and only track my heart rate and time of exercise through the watch?

Yes, you can. But it is possible that the battery life time with GPS is longer on your watch than on your phone. I have noticed very high battery consumption on my phone with apps like Strava logging activities.

Wow. That article essentially says to turn everything useful off to save battery.  No notifications (BT off, no step tracking, no HR, no PulseOx. You might as well leave it on the nightstand unless you’re exercising.

Yeah i dont know why they mebtion all of that, im onky using 15% battery per day with everything on except pulse ox
