Vivoactive 4 - battery drain issue ( 25% per day)

Hi guys,

I've read a lot here about it but not sure what's going on:

- VA 4 brand new ( 2 weeks) and updated to latest SW 5.10

- I'm using a IQ Connect watch face named 'Clear & Powerful' and few custom widgets like 'Fever Monitoring'

But I a have a battery consumption of 25% per day so in total 4 days battery only which is half of the promised 8 days.

Far as I understood the main cause could be 5.10 plus a custom watch face. But the stock ones are just horrible...

  • I'm not sure that you have to turn off to attend 8 days.

I had the chance to test Forerunner 245 and I get 7-8 days with the same face I got 4 days on VA4.

Same settings, weather etc on watch face except VA4 has touch screen.

  • If you look at the specs Garmin says in smart watch mode you get up to 8 days. On page 22 of the user manual Garmin says to maximize battery life turn off the following. Seems pretty clear to me.

Maximizing Battery Life You can do several things to extend the life of the battery. • Reduce the display timeout (Backlight Settings, page 19). • Reduce the display brightness (Backlight Settings, page 19). • Turn off Bluetooth technology when you are not using connected features (Turning Off the Bluetooth Smartphone Connection, page 2). • Turn off activity tracking (Activity Tracking Settings, page 8). • Limit the smartphone notifications the device displays (Managing Notifications, page 2). • Stop broadcasting heart rate data to paired Garmin devices (Broadcasting Heart Rate to Garmin Devices, page 6). • Turn off wrist-based heart rate monitoring (Turning Off the Wrist-based Heart Rate Monitor, page 6). • Turn off automatic pulse oximeter reading
