  • My wife is experiencing a wrong WHR with the new update, it's too low. Before the update, it was fine.

  • The countdown timer for each activity/workout is 5 seconds long. For every single activity.

I do yoga so sometimes a single pose lasts only 6 seconds until I switch to another. This means that for five of those seconds, I feel 5 vibrations on my wrist as the watch counts down from 5.

I tried disabling the countdown timer completely, did not work.

I tried reducing 5 seconds to 3 seconds, did not work. ("enter a value 0:05 or higher")

I disabled vibrations completely under settings, but then I get no notifications at all that my pose switched.

I want to be able to switch from pose to pose with only ONE vibration letting me know that I switched.

The only reason I got this watch was to to be notified that I am switching from one pose to the other, helping me keep a consistent pace. The countdown timer's vibration is making it's harder for me.

Garmin, we would appreciate the option to ignore the countdown timer or to at least have the option to reduce the seconds from a digit less than 5. Thank you for any help you can provide.

  • I could have sworn that I saw my wrist glow red from under the watch last night... my PulseOX is switched OFF in settings, but I happened to wake up last night to get up... my watch was pretty much right up close to my face, and I immediately noticed a red glow coming from my wrist. QuestionQuestionQuestion

It didn't seem as strong as when an actual PulseOx measurement is being made... but it wasn't green.

Perhaps this may be a contributing factor to night time consumption? I've now enabled and disabled PulseOX just to make sure the settings file is re-written.

  • That is a good experiment but I will say that I have consistently had pulse ox during sleep and battery consumption is down to 65 percent in the am with 5.1 where it was 80 with 5.0.

  • This only fixes the GPS version 0.0 issue and devices constantly trying to install the gps update several times a day...

  • For one or more users it also seems to solve the battery consumption problem, see comments below.

  • No it doesn't.

They are not making a statement that the update fixes battery. They are making a demand to Garmin to fix the battery drain problems that at least in these forums are affecting more people relative to the GPS V 0.0 issue.

  • Get rid of all CIQ apps and uninstall that beta crap from your watch/phone... This is the 100% reason people have battery issues.

  • Tired of the battery issues I back leveled to 5.00 again and used Martin's trick to empty out the gcd file. This worked fine for about 4 days - but then last night 5.10 automatically installed again :(. I had not deleted the empty update file so I guess the Garmin SW figured out that it was bad and replaced it.
