Pairing with kickr?

Hi all

Has anyone been able to pair the Vivoactive4 with a kickr18?

We can pair the watch fine with the cadence sensor of the kickr and also the phone, headphones etc but the kickr is not being detected. Any advice would be appreciated. both are updated to the latest firmware etc.

Works fine with forerunner 935 but not with this it seems.

exactly, so in my setup there is no way to use my watch for indoor cycling which is a shame because this is what I do mainly.

But what I don't really understand is that when I upload my activity from zwift to garmin connect. The Garmin software doesn't recognise it as an intensity workout even though all the data is there.

Power, hearthrate, speed, distance, hr zones etc.

Having relook at it, I highly doubt so.

In order to DIRECT Connect to ANT+ sensor you need this permission below:

This app requires access to:

Send/receive data via ANT radio to/from third-party sensors

The app linked says:

Sensor data (i.e., ANT+, heart rate, compass)

which is totally different.

now this app for sure can connect to a PM, but it's not for your watch. :-p

Yeah I tried it, my watch still cant find any of the sensors.

Might return the watch. 80% of my workouts are indoor cycling but the watch is useless for that.

maybe once I'm done w/ my current project I'll look into getting a PM working for these watches that don't support it. I wonder what's the ROI on that.

I think the problem now is that the watch cant handle the data now or something.

But an easier solution would be if Garmin just update the Garmin Connect app so that it recognises uploaded activities as an actual activity.

Or that it also measures intensity on the watch even though you didn't start an activity.

I mean my hr was 170+ if that is not an intensity effort according to Garmin than I don't know what is.

no. the watch can handle it, it's just market segregation of the watches to cycling vs running vs fitness and thus which ANT+ device profiles gets embedded as supported.

Such a shame, so a real multisport watch is not possible.

But still Garmin Connect has all the data from my zwift upload. How come it ignores that as an activity completely

the VA is not targeted as a multisport watch.
