Hello! Can you sync your device with Garmin Express and then do a soft reset on the device. Hold the power button for 45 seconds ignoring power off then turn it back on. Then can you walk outside and tell me if there is any change in connecting to the GPS.
Hi. I spoke to the swedish garminsupport and they said that if the watch does not have any gps software installed (like mine in the picture) you must return it to the store and have it replaced. There was about 25 known cases with this problem that they knew about when I returned mine. My new watch works perfect.
Thank you! I just came across your picture you uploaded! I am glad they were able to get this resolved for you. If you need anything else feel free to tag me!
I've been having this issue with my vivoactive 3. It's been getting worse, to the point where it sometimes finally connects GPS when my excursion is over or it never does at all. But I always make sure my phone is connected. And this is in large city, so it's not a question of lack of coverage. Hopefully there is some kind of update to download or other fix??

Thanks. I went to that tread and followed the procedure. (Deleting that folder and synching, etc.)
Unfortunately, it made no difference. I went for a 30-minute walk and the "Wait for GPS" message never went away.
Maybe there is a way to just reset the watch back to factory settings and start over? I'm pretty sure the GPS connected quickly when I got the watch last Christmas.
reset the watch back to factory settings and start over?
