Is there a way to turn off discard option?

Is there a way to get my watch to automatically save workouts rather than asking whether I want to save them or discard? I have the vivoactive 3, and I keep losing workouts because the touchscreen is sweaty at the end of a workout and discards them. I don’t really understand what the purpose of this feature is to begin with.
  • Totally agree with the above an below comments. The discard function is too easily pressed when the watch is wet or "freezes" for a second which makes you press and confirm the discard button by accident.

  • Totally agree, this has happened with me many times as well. When the touchscreen is wet or when the screen temporarily "freezes", the discard function and the confirmation is easily pressed. Would be good if Garmin can do something about it, as it is not great when you're having a touchscreen watch

  • I agree too. I've lost yet another activity because my sleeve touched the face of my Garmin Vivoactive 3. Grrr!

I apologize your activity was deleted. Unfortunately there is not a way to disable the discard on the watch. I can send this feedback to my team regarding how sensitive the screen can be. If there is anything else I can do please reach out!

  • Have you tried using the "lock screen" function?

  • Ok,

So I have a new Venu and I like it. However there is one annoying behavior that is driving me crazy.

I have looked at the Manual and I see no way to set the device to automatically save an Activity when it Ends.

I just do not see the point of having to reaffirm the watch to save my 10 mile runs Sweat after I have signal that I finished / completed the Activity.

I have also lost a couple of Swim activities Scream becase stopping a Swim is different than all other Activities ??? I have to triple acknowledge the Ending to Save.

Please let the watch just save an Activity automatically upon completion, since we already have ways to delete an activity later within Garmin/Connect.

If you want to be smart about it, any activity that is longer than (say... Thinking) 5 minutes? should be automatically saved when ending it!

    Best Regards,

    Daveed

  • I am floored this is still an issue over 3 years later. This is honestly horrible a UI feature.

  • Hi, it's been over two years and this should be a really simple setting to implement. Please prioritize this. You're target audience is people who want to have data on their activities and your terrible UI is causing them to lose the data they bought the watch for in the first place!
