Stuck on Garmin Logo Screen

My V3 is stuck on the Garmin logo screen. I've noticed a couple times that my watch would kind of restart and flash the logo, I figured that's just what it does when it's updating. However this time it seems stuck on that logo screen and it vibrates ever 3 seconds or so. I held down the button for 15 seconds to turn it off, I left it off for awhile but when I turned it back on its still doing it. My battery was at about 35% early today, but I figure if it died it wouldnt be showing anything on the screen or flashing the way that it is. Unfortunately I can't charge it until later when I'm home, but I'm not even sure that's going to solve this, it seems like faulty software. I have a warranty so if all else fails I guess I'll have to return it. Has anything experienced this or have any suggestions?

I have noticed this myself straight after the initial first charge of the watch. Only got the unit two days ago.

Once coming off of charge, the watch sits with the Blue Triangle Logo and just hangs there, until you do a force shutdown by holding the button in.
  • I had a similar issue, after an update using the USB and Garmin Express, My watch got stuck on a "boot loop", showing the Garmin logo and vibrating every so often (as if trying to restart again...
I am afraid this is not good news... I spoke to Garmin support who confirmed that my watch was briked and I should exchange it under warranty...

I share here a solution which worked for me to get out of the boot loop:

To make it clear and help people

If the device is still responding, push the Light / Power Button for 3 Seconds. A confirmation dialog will be prompt. You can start it again pushing the same button for 1-2 Seconds.

If it is not responding in any way, push it for 10 Seconds. The VA will shut down.

When it stuck in bootloop (Shows Garmin Logo, nothing else happens), I found a way to start it anyway. Turn it of (Powerbutton - 10 Sec) and lay it down on the docking/charging station, which is connected to a computer! It will now start automatically and boot successful.

I got the last behaviour once, after I´ve testet my very first own App.

    Thanks mate!

I did not know that we need to hold the power button for 10 long seconds for the shut down.

  • thank you! your solution helped me.

It took more than 3 seconds, but less than 10 for it to break out of the green triangle mode!  Not sure why I had the problem in the 1st place, i.e. what caused it. But, all good now!

    Brilliant. Thank you

  • Thank you!

Worked  for me..specifically  holding the power button down for 10 seconds, then powering it back on.

I thought this might have been out of charge, as when I plugged it in (from zero charge), it was stuck on the blue triangle instead of showing power percentage.

However, holding the power button 10+ seconds got rid of the triangle temporarily, then it came back but DID switch on with a button press.

Notably it showed Bluetooth software had been updated, which may have been a factor.
