(Known Issue) GPS tracking totally wrong since 2 days

Hi everyone,

i have the Venu since approx. 1 year. GPS tracking always works fine for me while running or cycling. Now since two days, the tracking is totally wrong. Although it has stable GPS connection, the saved track is totally wrong. Start and Stop do not match and the route is completely different from what i actually ran, sometimes nearly 1 km off in parts of my town where i definetly haven´t been to. Does anyone else have a similar problem.

My girlfriend has similar problems with her Vivomove 4.

Not impacting everyone, but it is a system-wide issue impacting multiple device types, not only Garmin devices.

I have the same problem (London, UK). Yesterday's run was fine but way off today. Hope this gets resolved soon

Same happened to me (and some colleagues) today in Venu, Fenix 6 and Forerunner 245M (all of them Sony chipset in case it matters)

Not talking about "accuracy" but hundreds of meters offset, starting with an easy and quick lock at the begining, in a usual track where usually there are no special coverage problems.

North of Spain, for reference.

Hello! Can you plug your device into the computer and sync with Garmin Express to be sure its up to date. Then can you do a reset on the device and tell me after your next run or bike ride if the GPS has improved.

Hi,

everything seems up to date. As suggested in other threads, i tested GPS without GLONASS and i had the same problem today. THe shape of the tracked route is correct, same for the distance, but its shifted to NW for around 300-500m.

I tried to reset the watch, but now i have a new problem. The Venu won´t couple with my phone anymore. It has a weird bug, where the language selection and everything else is overlayed by the "connection with phone" screen. You see the selection and welcome screen briefly, when you press the lower button. But it returns to the connection screen after 1s. And my Phone tells me, that the setup of the watch is not working properly. The watch is right now unusable.

UPDATE: The connection problems have been resolved. Problem was caused by Bluetooth settings on iPhone.

I have just bought the Garmin Venu last week and the first couple of days the GPS tracking appeared to be fine, now the starting position is way off. Quite often it 500 to 1000 meters from my actual starting position and then the first 5 to 10 minutes of my activity tracking is completely inaccurate, before at some point it seems to rejoin my correct tracking. The end point always seems to be correct.

So it appears the CPE file has expired on my watch and obviously a widespread issue which is causing this, when will Garmin produce a fix for this?
