Persistent Data Loss Issue: Garmin Venue SQ2 Fitness Tracker Troubles

I have been facing an issue with my Garmin Venue SQ2 fitness tracker, and I would like to describe it. The main problem is the random loss of data, specifically related to heart rate tracking, step tracking, stress tracking, and other metrics throughout the day while using the watch and the accompanying app. These data gaps occur unpredictably, lasting anywhere from minutes to  hours continuously, during which no data on heart rate or other metrics is recorded. This data loss happens without any apparent reason, even though I wear the watch correctly on my wrist and follow all the recommended guidelines. Sometimes, the data loss even occurs during sleep at night. However, it is more frequent on days with high activity and during tracked workouts, which exacerbates the frequency of data loss.

I reached out to customer support, and they attempted various solutions, including accessing my personal account to verify the issue. Despite their efforts, they advised me to exchange the watch under warranty. I have already replaced the watch three times, and each time, I encountered the same data loss problem, although the severity varied. Eventually, customer support informed me that it may not be possible to resolve this issue, leaving me with a watch that functions inaccurately and incorrectly calculates my daily statistics.

I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing a similar problem that cannot be resolved.

  • Yes have watch 2 yrs with no problem. Now I neglayed the battery charge and it went down to 0%. I charged it but loss all data

  • After all the checks and replacing the watch three times under warranty, my only option left is to test the watch on someone else... And you know what? Damn it, they work perfectly fine without those damn data losses! It turns out for some reason they just don’t work on my wrist. I’m European, I have fair skin and blue veins, I don’t know how to explain it. For many years, I used a Fitbit Charge and never had issues with data loss or reading information from my body. Now my wife has a Garmin Venu SQ2, and I’m left confused and without a tracker. LOL

  • The Venu SQ 2 has the "Elevate V4" heart rate sensor. Perhaps try one of Garmin's newer watches that have the Elevate V5 sensor, such as the Venu 3. Of course, if you really require the square watch face, then you'll have to move to another brand of smartwatch, unless Garmin plans on releasing a Venu SQ 3.
