Venu Sq 2 not calculating VO2 Max since v2.59

Since updating to system version 2.59 my Venu Sq 2 is no longer computing VO2 max scores when I do a running activity. VO2 max was updated for every running activity for six months before this update. I have done a factory reset and used a heart rate strap to try to get a VO2 max score to no avail. Is this a bug or is there something else I can try?

  • I have the exact same issue. Tried to force an update from the Profile -> VO2max menu, and the activity automatically stops after 10 minutes, and VO2max isn't updated. Definitely seems to coincide with the 2.59 update

  • I just bought a Venu sq 2 and am having this exact same issue. Measuring an activity directly from VO2Max stops after 10mins and vo2max is not recorded. Not recording from normal runs either. Checked software version and running 2.59

Have Garmin acknowledged this is an issue yet?

Assume they'll fix it soon as they've obviously introduced a bug and blocked a major feature and their software is so good normally.

  • I've reported the issue to Garmin Support but they say that nobody else had reported it. Might be worth putting in another report so they know it's not an isolated problem.

  • Ok. Yeah I just filled in a support request as I only bought my watch last week and the VO2 calculation is not working.

Glad I found this post as it was driving me crazy trying all the different options.

  • Anyone with this issue please do a support chat and have them add you to the case. They only have three reports so I don't think they are doing anything about it.

  • Same issue here since the update. I just opened a ticket as well. I have the watch since 45 days and it worked nicely till that point.

  • Same issue with Garmin Venu 2 sq. Vo2max not updated from Nov 30th.

Support only gave me a link to generic troubleshooting. No solution worked.

  • Just bought my watch.

    Same here.

  • Same. Generic answers from support were not helpful.

  • So my watch randomly decided to update the VO2Max after a hike (using hike2+) and then the next day it also updated after a bike ride (I don't have power meters).

So suffice to say it's bugged as heck. Support didn't even bother giving me a solution. They just requested a ton of info and that's it.
