Turn-by-Turn Navigation missing - Bug or simply not available?

Hello everyone,

The Venu 4 product page advertises the following:

COURSES WITH TURN-BY-TURN DIRECTIONS

Create or find existing courses in the Garmin Connect smart-device app, or sync from your favorite third-party platforms and get turn-by-turn directions.

But when I create a route and let it navigate me, I don't get any turn-by-turn directions. Only the distance to the destination is shown at the bottom of the display.

Test videos on YouTube have also criticized the lack of turn-by-turn directions, even though they should be available according to the advertising.

Is this false advertising or a bug in the watch?

Do other owners have the same problem?

Many thanks and best regards,
Chris

  • Thanks for your reply. I hope it will be fixed soon.

  • Hi Everyone

Our apologies, the Venu 4 does not support Turn-by-Turn navigation for courses. This was an error in the marketing materials and we are working to correct the information on the website.

  • That’ a scam Garmin! One of the reason because I decided to buy Garmin venu 4 was the turn by turn maps.

  • I'm also sorry about that. Garmin are great watches, but their logic of always "intentionally" doing something wrong with every model, just so they aren't accidentally better than another model, is baffling/surprising/perplexing.

  • At the time of purchase, Garmin’s official information indicated that the device included turn-by-turn navigation (Turn-by-Turn). However, the company later publicly acknowledged that this feature is not available and that it was an error in their marketing materials.

Although I was aware that the model did not include preloaded maps, the presence of the Turn-by-Turn feature was decisive in my purchase decision. I consider this situation to be a clear violation of my rights as a consumer to receive accurate and complete information about the product’s features.

For this reason, I request an immediate resolution, either through a full refund or an equivalent compensatory alternative.

If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 10 calendar days, I will proceed to file a formal complaint with the official consumer protection authorities and seek compensation for the damages incurred.

  • What a scam from a supposedly reputable watch brand! False advertising... I wouldn't have bought this watch if I'd have known that it didn't have turn by turn navigation. Really this function should now be added to this model.

  • Disappointing, yes. Scam? I doubt it. We have enough conspiracy theories in the world today, let's not add Garmin to them because someone made a mistake in the documentation. It's probably a copy/paste from the Forerunner that slipped by the editors.

  • Copy/Paste from Garmin for a 600€ watch? From Aliexpress maybe, but not from a serious company as Garmin. Come on.

  • 144 pages and 69,000 words and there's a mistake?!? OMG! Come on back at ya. Smirk Call Garmin Support and ask for a refund.

  • It certainly wasn't a scam, it was probably just an individual's mistake. But the truth is I was happy at least to get a discount on the navigation with turn-by-turn directions. I don't quite understand why it doesn't have full-fledged navigation like the X1. I don't mind paying extra, but neither the Forerunner nor the Fenix are luxury watches for the city. In this case, Garmin could step up and simply add this small feature.
