Actual this is not possible. Afaik only some pixel and galaxy watches support this (pretty nice...) feature.
If I am understanding your questions correctly, the article How Do I Change the Wrist Worn Setting for My Garmin Watch? will give you steps to do this.
I think they're talking about flipping the watch around so the buttons are always facing the hand.
It's not possible because you would need te re-calibrate the sensors (especially the accelerometers).
Sorry, but as a mechanical Engineer, I don’t understand this answer. And other brands of smartwatch are able to make this.
When the watch is worn with the buttons on the right, the top of the watch is directed away from you or down towards the ground.
When it's worn with the buttons on the left, the top of the watch is directed towards you or towards the sky.
So not only do the sensors/firmware need to be configured for that, but also the algorithms need to be trained for it.
Which is not to say it's not doable, but Garmin just hasn't worked on it, so it's currently not possible to configure the watch this way.

In my experience, it's not that complicated, Inertial sensors are bidirectional in all their axis so when rotating the watch 180 degrees on the wrist, it only requires changing the sign on a few those axis. Calibrations, and software remain otherwise the same. There's certainly going to be a lot of differences between individual users, so the inertial part has to have pretty broad tolerances anyway. Even if it is as difficult/complicates as you suggest, it's still a very weak excuse for not doing it IMO.
